The power and influence of World Title contender Filipe Toledo has been realised in a big way by the crew at FCS and Softech; two companies under the Surf Hardware International umbrella.
To kick of the new year FCS announced it has inked a new deal that will see Filipe riding FCS fins, pads, covers and leashes for another 3 years. The FT hardware franchise, which includes his signature fin and pad, have become some of the more popular merchandise in the FCS range.
Being able to work closely on my fins and hardware can’t be understated. Without the right gear, I simply can’t perform to World Title standards.”
We have great synergy, and I’m stoked to be representing FCS into the future”, said Filipe on penning the new deal. Now residing in California, and with a super easy-going attitude, the decision to re-sign Filipe was an easy one for Global Sports Marketing Manager, Richie Lovett.
Besides his surfing talent, Filipe is a pleasure to work with and he’s also managed to blur the lines between countries and boarders.”
“He’s got true global appeal; groms are phsyced on his act, and the older guard can also appreciate where he’s taking the sport”.
Onto the softer side of hardware news, and Filipe now joins Mason Ho, Eric Geiselman, Kyuss King, Sally Fitzgibbons and Tom Carroll on the Softech Ambassador Team.
The 3-year deal includes a signature softboard that will hit the market in 2019.
With surfers finding new and interesting ways to amuse themselves on waves, the addition of Filipe to the team comes with anticipation around just how farthe boundaries can be pushed when riding something soft. The tagline for the Softech brand is “Sea Differently” which basically means going out in the water and having a whole lotta fun, something Filipe was pumped on.
We obviously take the tour seriously, train hard and focus on the comps, but sometimes it’s nice to re-connect with the ocean in a super relaxed and fun way.”
“Softech provides that outlet with a great range of softboards. I’m pumped to get my model dialled and see where we can take it.”
